Keystroke logging (keylogging) is the recording of every key pressed on a computer - including text typed in personal messages, passwords and private documents. It is the most sensitive feature in employee monitoring. Employers should enable it only where a specific legal or security requirement demands it, never as a standard feature. What Keystroke Logging Captures Unlike general activity monitoring (which records that an application was used), keystroke logging records what was typed: messages, documents, search terms, credentials.
